T60 technical questions about fan/fan controller

#1 Post by OCedT60 » Wed Oct 20, 2010 9:15 am

So I have a few questions about the fan system

What voltages are output to fan at the different levels (level 5=2.5V level 7=5V etc)

How is the rpm data used by the feedback loop? I am particularly interested in if the fan is detected as spinning faster at specific level what happens.
..say at level 5 fan should be at 3800rpm but is detected as going 6000rpm what does the controller do?

What is the yellow rpm wire, pulse width modulation or tach?

Is the label on the fan correct? 5v, 0.24A so its a 1.2W fan

Ok thats what I thought, I am looking at replacing the fan with a sunon high cfm unit with the same voltage/current draw and my only issue is making the controller deal with my higher rpm fan signal.
