Used CPU fans

Hello.
Recently purchased a nice 15" Flexview T60p (2007-93U) and I'm thinking about replacing the fan.
The CPU is a Core Duo T2600 and the fan seems to work fine, but I've been reading on the forum that FRU 41W6407 provides the best cooling.
I'm looking at eBay and wondering if I should buy used or new. Also not sure if it's worth the trouble?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

The fan seems to be working fine, as you say - why bother? Too much money / free time? ;)

I may upgrade to T7600 in the future, so I thought I'd just upgrade the fan now since it's not too expensive.
I just like upgrading my T60p to "new" as much possible.
I already replaced the Flexview with a new one because of dust within the LCD, and slightly yellow tint and dimness.

I've never noticed any difference in cooling between the 2 discrete fans. I would not suggest replacing the fan at all, if it works and it is quiet. I would certainly not suggest replacing a working fan with another used fan just to get a different part number.

Heh. I had one such LCD that got a hair inside of it about 1 month after it was exchanged under warranty. Something is not right with the shielding. They are quite prone to dust spec. If you only have one small one, consider yourself lucky - it will be barely noticeable under most conditions, and can sometimes move around until it's stuck behind the bezel and you don't see it.
