t60 2007-fxg display improvement
sorry if i ask this again, but im thinking of "improving" the display of my 14.1 t60 (model type 2007-fxg)...
now it uses a 1024x768 display, id like to swap it for a 1400x0150 model... I have read some posts in the past... and i already know that i can keep my old inverter and that the display needs an eprom to make the computer use it, so the replacement has to have the rom embedded. is it true? I dont know where to look for the replacement, because i fear that sites that sell displays offer cheap replacements. could you confirm what i have written here and point me to a genuine replacement?
is what i have written is true, i should just need to swap the display...
thanks in advance

Yes, you can use the same LCD cable and inverter for XGA and SXGA+.
Make 100% sure you get an original, genuine IBM screen.
On eBay they are selling a lot of so-called "compatible" screens, and these do NOT work in the T60!

Excellent find!
You need the 14.1-inch SXGA (1400x1050) LCD at the bottom of that page for $109.99 + shipping.

has any of you ever ordered with them? what makes me dubious is that they dont have the part number with the screen...

Doing a bit of a background check on them, I found a lot of unsatisfied customers, e.g.
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Laptop_Screen
http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.laptopscreen.com
They are located in Vancouver Canada.
On average they seem to be cheaper than most, but I have my doubts now...

There's three SXGA+ screens for the T60 -
CMO - 13N7053
Hydis - 13N7055
TMD - 13N7057
I think the Hydis is generally regarded as the best. I had this screen on my R60. It was fine general usage like office and internet, but photo or movie viewing wasn't the greatest.

Try sending a PM to: BobA on this forum. I got one from him about 3 weeks ago very nice. He may still have one left.
