This machine came with a 3 yr Depot Warranty as part of the SMB TopSeller Program.
What are my warranty extension options? I did go online and look it up but it kinda confused me because it said 3 year On-Site.. Somethings wrong.

Thanks for the great link and short list. I'd like to go for one of these 3 that I have marked. I am guessing this adds 2 years more.. i.e. Original 3 + 2 extension? I am guessing we cant add more

years ?
PS: I get the first two that I have marked. Whats added in the Last one? Could you or someone explain the difference i.e. what it has more?
PPS: Also.. What are the prices for these three.. if you know so..

?

5 years is the maximum I've ever seen offered on any Thinkpads. There are post-warranty service maintenance options, for up to another 2 years, I think, which are much more costly, and are not applicable everywhere.
TPP is Thinkpad Protection (accidental damage insurance). HDDR I am pretty sure stands for hard disk retention (i.e., you don't have to send the defective hard drive back) - large organizations often buy this, for information security purposes.
Prices may vary - it is often possible to buy these extensions for 1/2 the price of Lenovo's MSRP, including directly from Lenovo. My suggestion is to browse for the "part number" in online shopping, and see how much dealers sell it for, then call Lenovo and ask them to match the price. Eventually they will.

You should be able to get the 2 year depot upgrade ("5" year warranty) for about $150 on various websites. Enter the part number into Google and see what comes up.

Is there a grace period for Warranty extension after expiry?
The online system doesn't seem to be working for warranty extensions (Also, phone lines are closed) Anyone tried it?
Even the ThinkEssentials site does not show the item at all (in India).
An external vendor has it available
http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/L ... 25/BF2227/
Can I just buy it online on/before the due / date (26/11) for it to be valid? Or does the Purchase date have to be much ahead of expiry date & needs paper work to be done ahead of time.
Is there no Grace Extension Period?

No, there is no warranty extension grace period. I think your only option now is to call telephone sales but this will cost you a premium - when I got mine, the phone sales guy wanted $254 - I got it online for $150. You may be able to bargain them down as a lot of the web places have a MSRP of arounf $160-$170.
