how much power do my T60 USB ports put out?

#1 Post by wild_bill » Fri Oct 29, 2010 12:14 pm

can someone tell me authoritatively how many milliamps each individual USB port can put out on a T60, and how much they can put out collectively?

also would be curious to know the answer for other Lenovo models, such as T4x, T500, X200, etc.

USB is a defined standard/protocol, so it is the same on all systems.

I am not sure about it, but i thought it was like this:

100mA without authorization from the device, and after handshaking/authorization the port can deliver up to a max of 500mA

For some 2.5" external HDD's 500mA isn't enought, so they have 2 USB connectors, which is good for a total of 1000mA (1A).
