IIRC, this T60 didn't come with anything like a comprehensive printed manual of instruction, a compendium of the feature set. There was documentation concerning safety features, a couple of other things, but no "manual!" Is it all buried in the ThinkVantage software?
What do you expect from a manual?

If you want a comprehensive list of features and properties, look at the ltwbook[/end] (covers Lenovo withdrawn models including T60 and T61).

For a technical maintenance/repair/replacement guide - the [url=http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-39298]Hardware Maintenance Manual Index
will have comprehensive manuals for all Thinkpad models.

If you wish to learn how to use stuff, that's what the internet is for, including our very own forums, and ThinkWiki. :)

Thank you! That first link, http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/ltwbook.pdf is not working, however. I get a message that it's "not a PDF or corrupted."

Works for me. Better to right click it and click download.

What browser are you using? In Firefox if I right click the link I do not have the option to download it.

My default program for PDFs is Foxit Reader. I just changed it to Adobe Reader 9.x, and will see if it opens. I always get the not PDF or corrupted message with Foxit.

I happen to have the German version of Firefox, so i'll try to re-translate to English. If you right-click the link to a pdf file in Firefox, you should be able to choose "store target in..." or a similar expression.

In Firefox 3.6.12, when I right click the link in the quote here which features the ltwbook.pdf file I get the following context menu:

Open Link in New Window
Open Link in New Tab
Open Link in Foreground Tab
_______________________________
Bookmark this Link
Save Link as...
Send Link...
Copy Link Location

[Edit: Save Link as... is the ticket here, I didn't realize. I thought it was just saving the URL, not the file]

Anyway, I uninstalled Foxit Reader, opened Internet Explorer instead (I had to close all my Firefox windows to uninstall Foxit Reader) and managed to bring up tlwbook.pdf and download it.

Edit 2: I think I'm probably better off not using Foxit Reader. Well, it just failed me. I don't remember why I was using it. It was recommended to me.

You better reinstall it.
You don't want one of the most dangerous and buggy softwares on this planet on your PC/laptop, do you?
I'm talking about Acrobat Reader. Who needs it, when you can have the much leaner and faster and saver Foxit Reader?

Well, OK, I'll try a reinstall. However, a look at
Wikipedia on Foxit indicates it does have its shortcomings, its failings. Thing is, I couldn't find a way to change the default PDF application in Firefox. It evidently uses whatever the machine defaults to for PDFs. I was looking for a workaround, a way of using Acrobat Reader for that one instance instead of actually removing Foxit. Couldn't find it.

Edit: Well, I reinstalled Foxit Reader, likely the same version I was already using, downloaded in July 2010 and this time it opened the linked 27MB PDF, would not before, reported not PDF or corrupted. Made it my default PDF app, but I declined the Ask Toolbar stuff! I Google.

For downloaded PDFs I use the Foxit Reader program.
For online PDF reads, I use the PDF Download Add-on for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/636/
