Cleaning fans, etc. of T60

I've had mine for almost 4 years and read in some posts that I can/should clean things. How do I go about doing this? A blast of gas or should I open it up. What areas am I looking to clean?

Having done a recently deep clean of both my T60 and T61 my recommendation would be to open up your T60, disassemble the fan and clean it throughly. I've found mines had a lost of dust below the fan that I could not get rid of it after an initial compressed air session. Another advantage of disassembling the fan is that you can also replace the thermal paste of CPU/GPU.
For a good cleaning you will have at least to remove the palmrest and keyboard. Then block the fan with a thin screwdriver/pencil/object before blowing compressed air to avoid the fan spinning like crazy.
I did blow the compressed air first into the corners, (heatsink), then carefully into the fan.
I hope this helps!
My 0,02 cents...
