Hello , everyone!

I'm new here.

I'm from China and I am a junior in a generic university in China.

I love thinkpad , ha ha

Occasionally , I found this forum from google. Then I couldn't wait to register a account , wanting to discuss with all here. I know there are many superiors here.

I got in touch with Thinkpad laptop when I was a freshman , and my first thinkpad lantop is a used T43 from my old brother .And soon , I found myself falling in deep love with it , Yes , I did, haha.

I gradually knew of IBM thinkpad(though now is of lenovo ,i like call it IBM thinkpad). I like its stability , firmness, solemnness , quietness , perfect design!

from the time I begin to use my T43 ,there were never problems with it till I give it to my mother a year later. Then I got my second thinkpad T60P with T7600/2G/100G/ATI V5250/15.4 widescreen, till now .

I spent 760 $ on my T60p(slightly used) , though I could use that money to buy a new other laptop.

Now I give you the most professional website for laptop computer (especially thinkpad) in China , you can see the situation of thinkpad in China from it . that is
http://www.51nb.com/

Yeah, I like American very much though I'v never been there. So I very yearn of American.
In the future , if I have a chance , I will go to study and tour in American.

So , I'm very sincere to make friends with you. Thus , we can communicate with each other through the Pacific Ocean , ha ha .

I just register my msn (In China ,we are used to use QQ, my QQ is:849793093) , it is
dswthink@hotmail.com , expect to make friends with you !

Thanks, 小窦

when you come to America, please bring lots of Thinkpads and Thinkpad parts for us, since they are making them there in your backyard, the prices should be cheap! - Just hide in your luggage and then call me, I will buy from you!

PS - X301 is very small and easily concealed :thumbs-UP:

My colleague from China tells me that Thinkpads are actually much cheaper in the U.S. than over there. He came to the States in early 2008 and is going back to China next week. During this time, he has bought half a dozen Thinkpads from Lenovo's U.S. site, two for himself and the rest for his friends in China. In fact, he just bought an X201, since it's the last chance he could get one for so cheap.

This is all very amusing! thinkloverCH, welcome to the forums, and again, I congratulate you on your English. It's rough (hey, I know no Chinese!), but I'm able to divine your meaning, and that's the crucial thing. I'm sure it will get better, and especially if you come to America to study!

My father used to take us out to Chinese restaurants when I was a kid and it was always a big favorite of mine. He was an officer during WW II and fought alongside Chinese soldiers in Burma, and he told a story about a time when the officers of the Chinese army arranged a special dinner for the American officers, not to be forgotten. My favorite spot locally is Chinatown in Oakland. It's teaming with activity, and though there are lots of cheesy goods for sale, plenty there is very down to earth. I love that place.

Yes, there's something special about Thinkpads. Actually, the first laptop I got my hands on was a nice Dell Lattiude that my company issued me for cross country trips back about 2000. It wasn't hard to love that thing and it had the first LCD computer screen I'd ever seen and text was sharp as a tack. It was a no nonsense machine, but my T60 Thinkpad (bought new on sale direct from Lenovo 4 years ago) is probably rather more so. When I needed a 2nd laptop a little over a year ago I checked out the prices of used T60s, but bought a new Acer on an unbeatable sale. I was happy enough with it, but it died a slow and miserable death (unfortunately, just out of warranty). So, I just acquired a T61 about 10 days ago, and another T60 is to arrive middle of next week (it was sold for parts, but my researches suggest I can probably save it, will see). :D I'm strictly a Thinkpadder now!

Your OP, though rough in English, is classic in that you attempt to frame the essence of Thinkpad, the design style, with enthusiasm and exuberance.
