Intel video chipset driver for Windows 7 64 bits ?

Hello to everyone,
I have a T61 under Windows 7 64 bits, with a Nvidia NVS 140M chipset, that just failed...
Although it is not the subject, I'm not very happy with Lenovo that denies to repair it for free, and they could do it for 2 reasons:
- 3-years warranty expired 3 weeks ago, so it would have been commercial from them
- the problem is known, as we can see in other threads
I'm going to change the motherboard for a one with an Intel video chipset (GMA X3100 if I don't do any mistake). I'm searching the right driver on Lenovo websites, but can't find an exact one, only one for Vista 64 bits.
Should I use this one, from Lenovo, or the one from Intel website which is more recent and explicitly said for Windows 7 64 bits ?
Thanks for your answers.
Fred

If you replace the motherboard, it might be necessary to replace other parts too. Possibly the "Thermal device and fan" and other parts. Lenovo's driver for the Mobile Intel GMA X3100 on a T61 for 64 bit Windows 7 can be found here:

Many thanks, TTY
Funny, I was thinking I knew how was built the Lenovo/IBM Support web site, but never successfully managed to find the right driver, and still cannot find the right way (neither by R61, nor Reserve Edition, etc.).
But anyway, thank you for the link.

How to find the appropriate driver:
First go to Lenovo's support site
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... eLenovo.do
Then click "browse product". Under "Brand", select "Notebook and portables", under "Family", select T61. You don't need to specify type or model. You can specify operating system. Click "Continue".
A new page is loaded. Don't click "Drivers and software - ThinkPad T61, T61p", that would load the device driver matrix. Instead, click "Downloads and Drivers". You can then use "Refine result" and choose "Video". This page has more drivers than the Device Driver Matrix.
Concerning your present motherboard, read Mark Hopkins's post on Lenovo's forum:
http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T61-and-pri ... 991#M46614
It might help to call Lenovo support once more and ask that they search their internal tips database. If they still say no, you could send a PM to Mark Hopkins.

Ok, found how to access the driver link. In fact, as you guessed, I was trying to find it by the Drivers Matrix.
Thanks for the information about the problem with the Nvidia GPU, I'm going to try to call Lenovo.

Back in the days of IBM, I had a T23 go out of warranty after a month and died. I emailed the CEO and got a response within 24 hours and they fixed it no problem.
I advise you try that route as well and email the CEO of Lenovo.
