What happened to ThinkVantage?

#1 Post by Muse » Wed Nov 24, 2010 4:15 pm

I'm wondering what happened to all the ThinkVantage accessibility. I did some System Updates the last day or two and I hit the ThinkVantage button or go to ThinkVantage in Start Menu/Programs I get the ThinkVantage Toolbox, which just displays a startup screen (with no functionality) that stays frozen in the middle of the screen for 1/2 a minute and then the Toolbox comes up, an inscrutable serries of 5 buttons followed by a dozen or so advertisements by Lenovo trying to get me to spend money on all kinds of things I'm not interested in. Do I have to uninstall Toolbox as an opener to get real functionality again? Used to be you had direct access to about 20 different ThinkVantage applets by pressing the blue button or going into the menu via the Start button. :?

What happened to Thinkvantage?

If you don't like the Toolbox tool don't use it. I don't.

I use the ThinkVantage button to easily turn off the display.

If it is pre-installed as part of a recovery build then yes I uninstall it.
