Bad NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M drivers for T61p on Win 7 64

#1 Post by bm14 » Thu Nov 25, 2010 5:07 am

Hello,

I have installed fresh new Windows 7 64-bit on T61p 6457-CTO with only NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M and I am experiencing a very slow graphic performance, slow and jerky mouse movements, window move & animation, even slow keyboard input. CPU is constantly about 40-50% and most of it are Kernel Times (red color). Even sounds and music are cracking. It is so slow that computer is unusable. I will spend almost 10 minutes writing this message.

I have tried to reinstall Windows 7 but when I put only NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M drivers on fresh installed Windows everything is slow and jerky again. BTW, everything works fine with Standard VGA drivers or in Safe mode. Already tried Lenovo drivers (8.16.11.8694, 2009-09-05) and latest Nvidia drivers (260.99, 8.17.12.6099, 2010-10-25) and latest BIOS update from Lenovo but nothing happened.

Any ideas would be appreciated… Thank You!

Sounds like a bad nVidia GPU. See this thread.

Try using the Vista x64 drivers from Lenovo. Using those drivers for my NVS 140m in Windows 7 increased 1080p playback as it was unviewable with the Win7 drivers.
