Question on upgrading SXGA+ 15" T60 to UXGA

The screen on my 15" SXGA+ T60 (model 2007-EP1) is getting dim and a bit yellow and I've been thinking of replacing it with either a new SXGA+ or UXGA screen. It looks like the cable and inverter are the same for both the SXGA+ and UXGA machines. I did some searching and I couldn't figure out what else might need to change to switch to the UXGA panel. Would I have to make any BIOS changes? Will the ATI X1300 graphics controller work ok at the higher resolution?
Thanks,
jay

The UXGA panel is a plug 'n play swap if you have a SXGA+ now. I installed a BOE Hydis UXGA in my T60 15" some months ago, for the same reason as you mention. The job was pretty straight forward, and it was a night and day difference in brightness compared to my old dim SXGA. I took some before/after pictures that I posted here. Check out the 4th post in this thread:

I have the X1400 GPU, but I strongly suspect that the X1300 works fine with UXGA too. Others will have to correct me if i am wrong at that point.

It's a straight swap on both the T60 and R60/e. Even the Intel GPU will drive the screen, gaming excluded of course.
