Hi guys!

I would like to install an SSD drive just for the OS. However it kinda sucks having to put a secondary drive in the ultrabray and thus having to remove the dvd.

Would it be possible to put an SSD (bootable) someplace else - any of the pcmcia/pcexpress/minipci slots? Thanks for any suggestions!

If you don't use the DVD on a regular basis, get a slimline USB DVD-drive.
You can use that on other laptops as well.
