Scratch in LCD?

#1 Post by marlinspike » Mon Dec 06, 2010 10:03 am

If I have another screen, is it possible to move the top layer from that screen to the screen that has a scratch? Alternatively, is it possible to buff the scratch out?

Try candle wax on the scratch. I found this on a Google search -

Put a small white candle into a small pan. Warm it up lightly. Take a little bit of this liquid candle wax with a Q-tipp. Wait until the tip's cold. Apply lightly on the scratch. Clean the spot with a screen cleaner IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SCRATCH until the overflowing wax will be totally away. Repeat until the scratch vanished. It worked fine on my 3 month old 24" Dell...

That's amazing! So scratch lcd's are a thing of the past?

@marlinspike: if you do attempt this, please take pics of "before" and "after". It would be very interesting to see the results.
