No VGA out, battery not charging... what could be the prob?

I have a T60 which has served me well over the last couple of years.

A few months ago, the battery stopped charging/working and the amber light started flashing.

Then, VGA out stopped working - except I could see the bios with VGA out, but nothing else.

So, I got a new motherboard, and a new battery. The problems have not gone away. The battery still does not charge, and the VGA out does not work.

What could it be? Does the inverter have anything to do with it?

If you see VGA out in the BIOS, I would suspect a software issue. Although it can be a problem with certain resolutions as well (the BIOS screen is typically displayed using a lower resolution than the average operating system desktop).

I am at a loss regarding the charging problem. I do not know whether any charging circuitry exists outside the battery and the motherboard.

have you tried reinstalling your OS (what os are you using)? also have you made sure that your power adapter is putting out the requisite 20 v?

Use this to test your power adapter:

What are the specs of that machine, and what is the 7-character Type/Model code (e.g. 2647-4MU) on the T60 bottom.
