Rebuilt t60. I lost the green sound and display visuals

Hi,
I rebuilt my t60 back to factory, and then removed some stuff I didn't want.
But in the process, I seem to have deleted or disabled the display visuals for the sound level, and the display brightness.
The blue Function keys for the display still works, as does the silver up down and mute for the sound, but the green visual on the bottom of the screen no longer displays.
I figure it must be a driver that I have either deleted or disabled but can't find out which one.
Does anyone know?
Thanks

Thanks very much for that link.
I figured it must be a driver, I didn't realise it was simply called on screen display.
I downloaded the latest one from the link and found the original one in my IBMTOOLS dir when I saved the new one.
Guess I will use the new one now.
Thanks again.

I just downloaded and installed this but I still see no indication of how many bars (or anything else) I have of total available brightness on my T61's display. I elected to install all 4 available applets of the EXE, including On Screen Display. Is there a utility I have to open to get it going? I don't see anything in Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools in Start Menu/Progams. I am running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, maybe that's an issue.

@nads1978 -- Did you download the Hotkey Drivers from Harryc's link? Did Drivers install, and did you reboot machine after?

Hi, Yes, Yes & Yes. Still no worky :/
Mine is a T420, if it makes any difference. Win7 64
It was working originally, I accidentally removed the program from within control panel.

Okay, next guess
What OS are you using, and what version of System Update is installed?
Since you did Factory Restore, it's hard to guess what may be missing. Do Hotkey Drivers show in your System Update History? Does System Update show you have all current drivers installed? Also, after Factory Restore, is your machine completely up to date on all Microsoft updates? Sometimes System Update won't play nice if certain Microsoft Updates are not installed (like service packs and net framworks.)
NOTE: I had trouble several months ago with my W7 X200 -- I never did figure out what caused the initial issue, but my Power Manager got wonky and would show the task bar icon, but would not open. I fooled with it whenever I had the time for a month, to include uninstalling and reinstalling Power Manager, as well as System Update. I seem to remember reading that Lenovo was having issues with System Update, but again I wasn't able to make any connection as to what the real issue was. I waited for a few weeks to make sure Lenovo System Update was back and functioning, and then did a fresh W7 install and downloaded all the drivers from System Update and Microsoft Update -- it was a pain, but the X200 is up and running with Power Manager again -- still no clue what was cause. With various other ThinkPads, I have on occasion 'lost' my on-screen display and/or sound -- usually after installing Windows 7 on a T60 or X60/X61 (I've never had a T61.) Each time, after installing (or uninstalling and reinstalling) drivers from System Update, as well as various Microsoft updates, the sound and/or on-screen display 'came back'.

I didn't do a factory restore, I just accidentally uninstalled ATK Hotkey (I think was the name, that is the name of the new one from the above link anyhow) from programs list.

I just noticed the blue ThinkVantage button doesn't do anything now either.
Thanks for the help.

"I didn't do a factory restore, I just accidentally uninstalled ATK Hotkey"
Sorry, I got you confused with original poster --
Sounds like you did to your T420 similar to what I did to my X200 -- I have same W7Pro64 installed -- does System Update show any updates for your machine? Unfortunately, I was not able to figure out what I did to my W7 install that killed Power Manager -- I was never able to uninstall/reinstall Power Manager correctly and ended up reinstalling W7. Hopefully someone else with more experience will come along and give you some good advice.

The OP also indicated that he disabled or deleted something (or that he might have done so). I have the same issue on a T61 that i recently purchased, so I'll try the link myself as well.

I have just bought the Win8 upgrade for USD 40. Upgraded the win7-installation which kept all programs and all settings beautifully, resulting in a boot-time of 25 secs (versus 45 secs on win7). And the OSD worked.
Accidentially to solve a Windows Update issue, I went through a "Refresh" (new buzzword for "clean install") resulting in the loss of all programs and some data, including all my mails
But now the boot-time is only 15 secs - amazing
But now the OSD did not work, but the above link to the Lenovo utility site solved the problem. Win8 does complain about "compatability issues" - but it works anyway
