Hey,

I was hoping to get some advice on upgrading my T60. I was looking to upgrade both my ram and HD. I'm currently running a 100 GB 7200 rpm Hitatchi HD, and 2 GB of ram. I know I can only upgrade to 3 GB of ram, but was looking for any suggestions, and/or any other advice regarding possible upgrades. Thanks in advance :D

Hello neighbor,

I currently run my T60p with the maximum 4gb ram and like you mention 3gb available, the T7600 CPU and a 256gb SSD. I am very satisfied with the performance. The most significant performance boost was the SSD. Depending on your budget that is what I would plan for first.

Which OS are you using? If XP, 2GB should be enough. If Win7, you may go for an extra 1GB to help a bit. RAM is cheap nowadays.

As the previous poster said, investing in an SSD would bring a nice performance boost, even if you are stuck to SATA-I speeds.

My 0,02 cents...

I have the same question. I already got the 4GB RAM but plan to get a SSD but have a hard time justifying the $$$ I'm dumping into a laptop that can only support 667FSB and DDR2 RAM.

Is the T7X00 processor a big bottleneck if I had low latency 4GB RAM, SSD main drive and WIN7?

I only ask because the computer does lag up every now and then and Im not running super intensive apps or stressing the computer. AutoCAD 2010 doesn't run as smooth as I expected as do CS5 apps.
