Hello,
I am considering a SSD for my T60. Any specific recommendations what to look for, manufactures, power consumption ,etc. I have been looking at New Egg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820167031
Any experiences appreciated.
Thanks,
Bruce

I have put SSD's in my ThinkPads and am very happy with them. I just put a 256gb SSD I purchased from a Forum member here:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=91104 in my son's T60, and it made quite a difference. I upgraded his Vista to W7 at the same time and added ram to 3gb. He is very happy with his "new" machine

I did a lot of research on this since I wanted to go the same route.
If you're worried about their projected longevity, wait a bit or spend the $$$ on a SLC drive like the Intel X25E or an Enterprise drive. They are rated for more write cycles for each memory cell as opposed to the cheaper MLC.
Otherwise, the Crucial RealSSD and G.Skill Phoenix Pro are the best choices for the money. They're both MLC but the RealSSD can get read and write speeds as the X25E. Crucial uses the new Marvell controller while the Phoenix Pro uses Sandforce and it just means they have different approaches to handling data and garbage collection. The former produces higher read speeds while the latter write speeds. I forget the specifics but the Sandforce is supposed to have better garbage collection scheme but they are both very good deals for the money.

I have been using a 160Gb Intel SSDSA2M160G2GC for almost 10 months now. Fantastic even if the bus is limiting the full performance of the SSD. No regrets. Rejuvenated my T60p.
