System restore model specific?

#1 Post by JasonD » Tue Dec 21, 2010 11:56 am

Would it be possible to use a T4x (xp) or T400 (Vista) system restore disk on a T61? I'm considering buy the T61 and would want to replace the hard drive. The T61 has a Vista COA and I have unused XP COAs from my two dead T4x. If I used either disk, I'd almost immediately upgrade it to Win7 using a retail MS win7 upgrade DVD.

Tnx

Jason

Just use your Win 7 upgrade disc to do a clean install. Several ways to do it, see here:

The "double install" method is actually MS approved.
