cannot connect external display on T60

Hi there, new to the forums here. I've got a Thinkpad T60 with an ATI Radeon X1400 video card. Previously had no trouble connecting to an external display (32 inch Sharp TV) via a standard monitor cable, but after restoring to factory default settings, all I get is a blank screen on the TV when trying to display my desktop on it. I've updated my computer to Win XP service pack 3 and installed all the recommended updates from Automatic Uptdates. I've also installed the latest ATI software.

I know it's not my cable or the TV because my wife's T410 connects instantly with no issues.

Any ideas?

Since you used restore discs, try Fn +F7. It should toggle between LCD, external or both displays.

If not, run Lenovo System Update and see what's missing or needs updating.

When I toggle between the LCD, and external, all I get is a black screen on the external display. I've already run system update and have all the updates except the Lenovo toolbox.
