Two T60's. Feasible to swap the HD's?

I am wondering if it's OK to swap the HDs in my T60's. Might there be unfortunate results? The machines in question:

1. T5500 Core 2 Duo 1.67GHz
Intel integrated GMA950 graphics
3GB DDR2
60GB HD with single partition

2. T2400 Core Duo 1.8GHz
ATI x1300 graphics
2GB DDR2
250GB HD with 2 partitions

if they are using vista or windows 7, then you can do it, but you would need to reactivate the OS.

They are both using XP Pro, and they both have CoA's. Won't work?

You could certainly try to swap the drives but there's a chance that both of them will want to be re-activated because of the hardware differences seen between the previous boot and the "new" conditions. Windows may also boot into Safe Mode because the video drivers may not be available. Note that these are just guesses as I haven't actually tried this with the hardware in question.

i can't remember whether the XP pro allows you to change the hdd without reactivation and such. I will have a try in my two different T60 and see what happens.

Should work fine. If you are using the IBM/Lenovo factory image, the OS will recognize the new hardware when you first boot and install the appropriate drivers. The T60 image was good for any model number. Also, being a volume XP license, there should be no activation issues.

Thanks. Yes, both machines' installs are the factory image, in fact the 2nd's install was made from factory restore of the R&R disks I made with the first machine, 4 years ago. One HD is 60GB, the other 250GB.
