Re: Plastic Strip PLEASE HELP
If it's the part I am thinking of, it's not part of the keyboard bezel, it is part of the keyboard itself. To the OP, are you talking about the piece of plastic that houses the power switch and Thinkvantage (or access IBM) button, pictured below? On earlier models of Thinkpads, IBM used to actually put the machine type on there (.e.g. T23) and it was called a volume cap (or something like that). I've never seen a part number for it on a later keyboard.

The Hardware Maintenance Manual lists the parts and their part numbers.

Re: Plastic Strip PLEASE HELP (Picture warning)
the strip is not covering the indicator lights
I looked it up, and the piece is right above the bezel
I could not find it on the products list
Is it possible that because the part is so unimportant to system function that it is not replaceable?

Re: Plastic Strip PLEASE HELP (Picture warning)
The strip looks almost exactly like the indicator lights cover, but it is directly below it, and with out any lights, just a black strip set in the case

Re: Plastic Strip PLEASE HELP (Picture warning)
That's a keyboard bezel. See the previous post by dr_st for FRU numbers. You can start by searching for the correct FRU# for your machine on EBay. Just pay attention to the fact that the bezels are different depending on the screen size of your machine.

Re: Plastic Strip PLEASE HELP (Picture warning)
You can either replace that with a piece of matte tape, which you cut to size, or replace the upper keyboard bezel assembly, of which that is a part. AFAIK it is not available separately.
That's just a (rubber?) strip to cover where bezel-inserts meets frame

Re: Plastic Strip PLEASE HELP (Picture warning)
I agree - that adhesive tape part is kinda flimsy (as a solution) and i have also wondered what to do if it becomes unattached - luckily it has not happened yet. The adhesive tape isn't available as a separate part - you'll need a new keyboard bezel. I've got a used 15.0" bezel stored somewhere with a broken tab (near the LAN and modem ports), but it's really impossible to pull the tape off damaging the tape.
Re: Plastic Strip PLEASE HELP (Picture warning)
I decided to glue the pieces down for now, While its not the prettiest thing in the world, it works
