Sorry I've been posting so much this past week, but I'm new to the thinkpad, and I have no idea what this popout tab does.

If you pull it, the DVD drive will come out of the Thinkpad. The tab itself is activated by the small switch to the right of it.

The one below the USB cable? It's to remove the ultrabay device (mostly the optical drive or a SATA adapter). See page 62 of the HMM.

I pulled on it quite hard and it didnt open up the drive, does the computer have to be off?
