T60 Screen goes dark (LCD is turned off)

Hello,

when I log in to one of my Windows XP accounts of my Thinkpad T60, the screen goes dark just after a couple of seconds. The LCD is turned off, I can't see anything.

But I can use my keyboard to lock the T60 and use another account. With this account there is no problem at all. So I should have to do something with the software.

Can somebody help?

Thanks a lot :(

Sounds like the Screensaver has been set to kick in after a few seconds.
Try booting in Safe Mode (hit F8 a couple of times at bootup) and check the Screensaver settings.

Thanks for your answer but the screensaver isn't the problem in my opinion.
I don't see a screensaver, I can't see anything because the screen is turned off.
If I boot in safe mode, I can see that the screensaver will only kick in after 40 minutes.

Somebody has another suggestion?

Many thanks

On the same screen as the Screensaver is a button 'Power'.
Go in there and check the monitor settings.
Another place to check would be in the Thinkvantage power settings.

Again, many thanks for your answer :)

I can't find the button "Power" but I don't think it has to do with power or monitor settings.
I didn't change anything and suddenly I can't use this account anymore, while the other accounts are just fine.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Create a new account for that user, then delete the old one.

That is a solution but I would lose all my settings... :?
