Computer stalls under 100% cpu AND use

I run folding@home constantly on my T60p, which makes it 100% cpu all the time.
What is curious is that my laptop freezes if I use the mouse (trackpoint of touchpad). If i leave it on it with it at 100% cpu it doesn't freeze, nor when I am not running F@H and using it.
Typically, I use the mouse a little, then the temp of the cpu goes from 95 to 86 (I would guess because the frequency goes from 2161 to 1662 MHz) then it freezes right after. By freeze I mean the screen looks exactly the same as the last moment, and all processes seem to stop as the fan speed goes down.
I thought this would be a temperature problem but if it was it would either shut down the computer. But it doesn't it either downclocks and freezes or just downclock until it cools off, then go back to full frequency.
I also thought this could be because of gpu heat from the cpu, but I don't think it could be that because I watch 720p video while folding, and if I don't touch the mouse, no problems.
It seems to be induced by the keyboard, and I need to replace it anyways, as my W, A, and D keys are faulty from overheating and long use.
I was wondering if you've ever heard of these problems before and any possible fixes? Not expecting any magic work here, but yeah, previous exerience is not helping me on this problem
Thanks!
