Hello.

I have some problems with my ThinkPad since few dayes. During playing game my GPU slow down and playing isn't fluent.

I run Windows 7 x64 SP1 RC, have 4 GB RAM Kingston HyperX, cooling system is OK, in idle I have about 55 *C. My Thinkvantage Power Manager plan is set to Maximum Performacne (3.31).

I used TPFanControl too but it doesn't help.

Anyone, could explain what is the problem? Could it be a game issue? Why my system isn't running in Maximum Performance when I set it?

During those issue I'm connected to AC without any battery pack so the performance should be max.

Big thx for any advise.

I had similar problems last year.

It turned out that I had started using a 65w AC adapter instead of the 90w the machine needed.
Also, 55C seems like a low temp, so I wonder if the processor/hardware is working full out.
Under gaming on mine (WoW), I am seeing 85C+ temps.

To get maximum performance, you both battery AND adapter hooked up.

It's strange because I have nevere had any problems like my.

I have power adapter 90W and I buy it with my T61 so I don't understand why it could make some problems.

Maybe this is some software problems which provide wrong cooling policy?

Any other ideas?

@RealBlackStuff
My battery is switched off, I don't need it when AC is connected. Besides in this case cooling is better. This is good WiKi: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Maintenan ... _treatment
