Using R&R discs with new hard drive

#1 Post by YRD » Tue Jan 11, 2011 1:38 pm

Installed new hard drive (Seagate) on T60 and using R&R discs to get back to factory install. Go through Disc 1 and then it reboots using Disc 1 and does not prompt me to insert remaining discs.

Pls. help as to what should I be doing to have my new HDD installed with factory installed software.

I do have all the IBM provided 7 disks. I used the first one "Rescue & Recovery" to get my new HDD configured back to factory install. When I install the first disk, ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery 3 starts. I press the rescue option and it goes through the pre-install and when completed it automatically shuts and starts the machine back with ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery without prompting me to load other disks. This is where I am stuck. Why is it not prompting me to go through the full recovery process with other disks? Need help....

Are you selecting "Restore to original factory contents"?
