New motherboard woes #3...Need hardware maintnance diskette

Is there anyone who can let me borrow a hardware maintenance manual diskette? Perhaps email it to me? I could email it right back to you after I am done using it. I would not have to keep it. you would not be distributing it. Just loaning it out for 30 minutes. Alternatively, I could email mine to you, then it would be an exchange.

Unfortunately I have the 1.72 version, and I need 1.73 or higher.

I can't run system update because my new motherboard has no serial number or model #. Wanted to do update, because ever since this motherboard replacement (new board) it can't use a usb device for broadband. I figured an update of drivers and bios would help. Also, it can barely scroll up or down a page. It acts as though it is running at 1 Mhz. Something is wrong. I doubt it is hardware since all the hardware is new. I just want a chance to update the bios and drivers and see if that cures the trouble. Everyone here has been so helpful with my problems. I think next time I will part the unit out and buy a working one. This is getting insane. But now I am vested with all these parts and I have to try to make it work.

This is beginning to be more trouble than it is worth. I could email it right back to you after I am done using it. I would not have to keep it. you would not be distributing it. Just loaning it out for 30 minutes.

I need a working computer. I have had a 3 weeks of waiting for parts and replacing parts, now replaced 2 motherboards, and still machine needs work. Meanwhile, I had bought a replacement t60p when this one broke, so I would have a working computer. Well that one overheats and needs a keyboard, and I have to send it back for an exchange, but I can't send it back until this one is fixed and I am running out of time. Of course I could fix the other one from overheating, but I paid $400 for it and it has been running at 99 degrees celcuis for years, so I don't really want to own it. so I have to exchange it, so I have to fix this one, so I need this maintenance diskette. I would love to just sell all and buy new machine but alas, I hate them. I bought a new x301 and sold it 3 months later for a $1000 loss.

Any help is appreciated. greatly.

Thanks
Andre

We can't tell you on the forum how to obtain Hardware Maintenance Diskettes. On a different topic, remember that Google is your friend.
