T61p, suddenly shutdowns, won't start until a while... weird
Hello Sirs,
My T61p, was working perfectly, now it's erratic.
Sometimes when I shake or move the notebook, its shutdowns completely and instantly, and it won't start again. I have to take the battery off, put it back again, several times to make it start. Like I said is very erratic.
I have updated the Bios to the last version, still the same problem. Apart from this, the notebook is working great!. I have opened it, and looks great under the hood, just a little dusty.
Any suggestions on this weird matter?

Yes, remove all that dust.
Get a can of compressed air if available, remove the keyboard, hold a toothpick between the blades of the CPU fan to stop it from turning, then blow out all the dust from the CPU cooler.
You may even want to remove the keyboard bezel and clean the whole area.

OK, will do that... Now, how can I test if this was successful?
I will download a monitor software to get laptop temperatures. Which is the range of temp. that my laptop should have?
Re: T61p, suddenly shutdowns, won't start until a while... weird
ok, I've blowed what was left of the dust. Speed fan tells me that Core temperatur is 140°F. Is that too much?
Re: T61p, suddenly shutdowns, won't start until a while... weird
The fact that movement causes it to shut down tells me that there is a loose component or connection on the systemboard. Lets start with power. If you remove the battery and shake the machine with just the AC adapter plugged in, does it power down by itself?
Re: T61p, suddenly shutdowns, won't start until a while... weird
Nope. Not always when moved it shut downs. It's correlated with high temperatures I think...
