T60: Touchpad not always responding immediately

#1 Post by frankiepankie » Fri Jan 28, 2011 3:46 pm

Hi guys,

Just received my T60 yesterday, installed Win7 on 40GB SSD, upgraded the RAM to 4GB etcetera

But i have a weird little problem with the touchpad.

When i use the touchpad, take my finger off it to type something, and then lay my finger back on it, it doesn't always immediately respond and i sometimes have to swipe a few times to get it to 'wake up' again.

Anyone else noticed something like this, and know how to fix it?

It is only a small problem, but still quite annonying

I have experienced the exact same thing on mine with Windows XP. I have the UltraNav software installed, and I have been trying it with the PalmCheck sensitivity set to minimum. It does exactly what you describe and I have experienced. I have mine about in the middle and so far so good.

Give it a try, hopefully it helps!

Try swapping the palmrest assembly...your problem might just go away.

I already have the UltraNav software installed, and it already is at the middle. I am now running Windows 7 on it, but when i got it, it had XP, and it had the same problem there, so maybe it isn't a software problem indeed and replacing the palmrest is the only correct option :|

Edit: Hmmm i found eBay seller "parts112" has quite some T6x parts available for cheap: http://myworld.ebay.com/parts112/
