I've been running Fedora 14 on my 14" T60p for quite some time now, and just recently started monitoring the temperature sensor readings: at idle/light use, I'm getting 46C (CPU), 32C (HDD), and 64C (GPU). The fan seems to run persistently, but at low RPMs, and cool air comes out. Does this sound like acceptable temperature results for a T60p in Linux? (The fan control by default is clearly different than in Windows 7, where the fan does not run persistently, but rather in higher-RPM bursts...
Thanks for the input!

Re: T60p temperatures in Linux--Ok?
They don't sound too out of line, if you had hot air coming out of the vents I would expect a partially plugged heatsink. If nothing was coming out, then I would call plugged heatsink/defective fan.
Might want to try cleaning it to ensure it's good anyway, but I think your processor just isn't clocking back and staying at full speed. That would explaing 46'C processor temperature. My T60 with a Core Duo T2400 stays around 40'C when idle. I haven't checked it at full load yet.

Thanks for the input. My BIOS was set to max performance; when I put it back on scaling, I got the CPU temp down several degrees; as such, I'm gonna say it's probably ok.
