I have two T61p's with the wuxga display.. M/T 6457-5KU..
both DID work but one has now refused to power up..
it never makes it through the boot process..
when plugged in the power indicator is on and when a battery is present, the batt indicator is on..
when the power button is pressed the "on" indicator lights up and the num lock and caps lock briefly light up, then go out..
the HDD spins.. and continues to spin until i press the power button and the "on" indicator goes out..
and thats IT..
no beeps, no splash screen..
nothing but the power on and appropriate battery and ac power indicators..
press the on button again and it powers down.. well, the power on indicator goes out and the appropriate battery and ac power indicators remain on or off according to ac power or a battery being present..
and the HDD spins down..
i have swapped battery, memory, HDD (with others) and reseated or pressed down on the various connectors under the palm rest and keyboard..
also i pulled the CD drive..
i have tried powering it up with no memory, HDD, wifi or modem card.. no change..
i pulled the CMOS and still no change..
anyone have an idea..?
