T61: Problem with status indicator LEDs

#1 Post by monacotaxi » Mon Feb 28, 2011 2:57 am

Hello together,

since some weeks I am having a problem with the status indicator LEDs. One by one of this LEDs is gone and meanwhile only two LEDs are working (see image behind the link). The LED for WLAN connection is still working as well as that one for the harddisk drive. What could be the problem? Does anybody know this?

Thanks for your help.
Oliver

Just to test CAPS Lock and NUM Lock, try those FN+buttons.
Remove/replace the battery to test the battery LED.
Go into the wifi settings to test the BlueTooth LED.
Unplug/replace the AC adapter for the Power LEDs.
Try the Sleep mode for that LED.
If none of those things work, the most obvious would be to replace the inverter, on which these LEDs are mounted.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Thanks for your fast answer, the inverter could be one part of the problem. Meanwhile I found out, if I waggle on my display cable, the LED for the battery status is coming back...
