T6x color calibration

#1 Post by eyeland » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:21 pm

While installing the ever returning driverupdate to the hotkey features package, I noticed the text
"<Display Utility>
This program provides a function to change various settings of the
ThinkPad's internal display. This program is applicable only to several
featurized ThinkPad products. The settings of "Color Temperature", "Color Space",
"Dynamic Contrast" and "Over Drive" are available."
As I have never seen any of these settings in my curious exploration of my T61 7661gn3, I assume that my tp isn't one of those "several
featurized ThinkPad products". Is there any way to "unlock" this functionality or would this be pointless?
These days, I am trying to make a little money on the side, doing simple and cheap designs for web and print (in DK I am an amateur/prosumer whereas in the middle east where I currently reside, I almost qualify as an expert;) Thus, I'd like to go further into calibration of my displays and as I can not afford a colorimeter, I am interested in any advice on where to start apaprt from the obvious windows color profile and gamma utility.
