Help. T60P fell, now no video on laptop display.

The cat dragged my T60P on to the floor after getting tangled in the power cord (cat's lucky to still be around). Now the laptop LCD display has no video, no backlight, completely dead.
Plugging the VGA in gives me video, so that works. Reading through here, some people mentioned the lid switch that is in the inverter. I'm not sure where to go with this, I don't have any other T60 LCDs to try to connect. I do have a 14" T42 available. Of course this is the 15" UXGA screen that I LOVE to death, so I'd really like to try to get it back and working. At least until I check out the new T520s.
Thank you for your help with this.

Very likely the tiny fluorescent lamp that illuminates the display was broken in the fall. The only fix for that is to either replace the LCD panel itself (or the complete lid) or replace the lamp within the panel (very difficult to do right).

If that's the case then the image should be visible when pointing a flash light at the screen.
khaoohs, try that first.

you might open it up and make sure the lcd connector just hasn't come loose.

I don't believe the backlight broke because there is no image on the screen, I've seen laptops with broken backlights and know what to look for there, I don't see it.
Also, FN+F7 doesn't swap the display off of the external VGA connector.

Just in case, I have described exactly how to replace the CCFL for a 15" IDTech UXGA LCD:
