keyboard not responding after sleep

#1 Post by kamaleon » Sat Apr 02, 2011 7:29 am

Hi folks

Have been having some issues with my T60p 2007-WMJ.
After coming out of sleep, randomly the keyboard stops responding. At the time of writing this I can't remember if the same thing happens coming out of hibernation too.
It's very random, sometimes it doens't work BUT Fn+F4 to put it back to sleep does work, so what I do is I keep pressing it to put it back to sleep and reawaken until the kbd does work
Anyone else experienced the same thing and what could be wrong? ACPI is activated as per usual, and have the latest bios 2.26...

does tv system update offer you any new drivers?
also might want to check the driver matrix directly as i've seen a lag between actual driver availability and being offered by tvsu.

Hi there

I don't use system update i try to use as least as possible from lenovo's bloatware.
Which driver specifically do you have in mind so I can check for it?

tvsu, imo, is one of the more useful lenovo apps, not bloat-ware at all. i do monitor the driver matrices also, though.

not sure which driver might come into play. system interface driver, maybe. hotkey package, possibly. chipset driver package?

OK I will follow your advice then. Regarding the chipset driver though, isn't it provided by intel and not by lenovo?

i tend to install hardware support drivers from the lenovo sites, either through tvsu or the driver matrix. the only notable exception is that i let windows update install the win7 ati v5200 video driver on my t60p as lenovo has never listed one.

at one point, and hopefully still, ibm and then lenovo did system testing of the drivers from hardware manufacturers (audio, video, networking, etc.) and then released them through the official support channels.

just to note, tvsu is offering me an intel chipset driver package: v9.2.0.1015. doesn't look like any fixes are involved, but is new as of 3/8/11. it's also offering what is labeled a critical update to the hotkey features integration package: v3.33.0002. it's dated 3/18/11.

fwiw...

Hi Sarbin

It's been a week now and it seems the fixes worked, the kbd hasn't failed ever again after sleep. The machine now goes into sleep much faster too. Thanks again!
