T60: Display inverter XGA vs. SXGA+/UXGA

Hi,

the HMM specifies different display inverters for XGA and SXGA+/UXGA on a T60 15": 42T0077 vs. 42T0079.
Does anyone know the reason? I looked into the datasheets of a Samsung LTN150XG-L08 (FRU 13N7065, XGA) and a Boe-Hydis HV150UX1-100 (UXGA). Backlight current is 0.5 mA(rms) higher with the UXGA, typical power consumption is 0.14W more. Is this the only reason and has anyone used a 42T0077 with SXGA+/UXGA?
Any chance that breaking the inverter may also harm the CCFL (by undervolting or leaving the specified frequency range)?

why take the chance on damage?
the part can be had pretty cheaply on ebay. $25US or less.
