I have the 64MB ATI Radeon X1300 video chip set.

Do I need to do anything special to the EDID ROM,
like in this post :http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=77733

Or would it just be plug and play?

As long as the new LCD is an IBM FRU# for a T60, it would be plug and play.

Oops. The description says it is for an IBM, but there is no FRU# that I see. If it does not plug and play, could I use the registered version of PowerStrip and load a sxga.dat file to the EDID ROM. If so, where could I find a copy of a sxga.dat file? Or would I have to write my own?

Sorry about all the questions, maybe somebody could post a link to some relevant reading material.

Oh and if it helps, Type 2008-CM5.

I think, practically any 30-pin panel with EDID EEPROM chip may be used in T/R60 - a few days ago Samsung LTN150PF-L05 was successfully installed in R60 (a little EDID editing needed, but it really very simple).
