Charging problem
Charging problem
My T61 suddenly has a message "Plugged in not charging" display brightens up when PS is inserted. Using a different PS makes no difference.

Re: Charging problem
More information please - what precent of the battery is left, are there any other issues (error messages...) how old is the battery (age & number of cycles, wear level), OEM or third party?
In general, if the battery has more than 96% left, it will not charge (hense "plugged in, not charging") - that can be changed by setting thresholds in power manager.

Re: Charging problem
Craig Thanks for your reply. Seems kinda strange but after I posted I shut down, removed ac & battery and held the power button down for 1 minute or so then rebooted with no battery, shut down, instaled the battery it said 88% Shut down and left it. Just turned it on and it reads 100% !When I moved the cursor to the plug icon it just says 100% no mention of not chargingor charging. Battery is about 1 year old. I ran a scan with the tool box and battery passed no other problems showed up. I have no idea if the problem still exist.
I will pull the plug and let the battery run down then plug in and see what the heck it says.
Battery is OEM

Re: Charging problem
Craig, I just plugged it back in and it said 73% charging. So I guess the power setting was confusing me. Thank You for your willingness to jump right in!!

Re: Charging problem
It may have sensed an issue (too warm cold...), and it would not charge untill it was within limits. I personally have never had that happen, but if you are in a warm enviroment, it may have been the issue.
Glad to hear it seems to be working
