A 15.4 inch T61p with motherboard replaced in Austria in November 2010 has:
New board FRU 43Y9048
NVIDIA
U911B114 0945A2 (45th week of 2009)
S TAIWAN
PC 6081.M1W
G84-950-A2
Based on these data, could it be safe to assume that all board FRUs starting with "43" mean a fixed NVIDIA chip? These FRUs are not found on the lenovo site, it might be an internal designation for services only, to easily differentiate between "good" and "bad" boards.

Re: Bad vs Good Nvidia G86 Chip Info Posted
Welcome to the Forum and thanks very much for sharing your T61p info ...... Please note however that my July and August 2008 built T61p units system mainboards both begin with 44C (from the factory) ..... they skipped the 43 series altoghther so you may be correct. I believe Lenovo began using the 44C board from the factory on the 15.4" T61p in early 2008.
However, it is the date code on the Nivida chip that is the most certain way to tell the status of the Nvidia GPU.
