Hi All -
I am looking to do an SSD upgrade. I haven't taken a look at the internal components yet, but in doing some digging around the net it seems that the t60 does not offer SATA2 support? Is this true? If so, is there anyway to workaround that and put in an SSD? Thanks in advance.

Re: Thinkpad T60 2007 SSD Upgrade
It is true that a T60 does not offer SATA2 support, but it does offer SATA1 support. You can still run an SSD, and even if it is an SATA2 SSD, it will run at SATA1 speeds in a T60. (there is no work-around) The general consensus is that even though this is the case that the speed boost benefit far outweighs the reduced interface speed.
Re: Thinkpad T60 2007 SSD Upgrade
I have been running 80 gig Intel solid state drives on my T60 for a couple of years, and boy howdy, does it ever make a difference. Faster than heck and quiet, too. I keep Windows 7 and some documents on the SSD, and other things like multi-media on a Ultra Bay hard drive. Works great.bj1032 wrote:Hi All -
