T61p (8891-CTO, 14.1") 2.29 BIOS?

Hello All,

After quite some time, it looks as if Lenovo has released an updated BIOS found here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67988

I have T61p 8891-CTO 14.1" non-sidescreen 4:3 ratio model. I don't see anything listed for the 8891 on their site, but just T61 and T61p.

I just wanted to make sure that this BIOS applies to this specific system (I'm sure it does, but I wanted to triple check).

What I'm building up to is to know....

That I see that middleton (the man behind the SATA II speed unlock BIOS mod) on notebookreview.com forum thread has the R61 BIOS modded for the newest version 2.29, but not for the T61. They both use the same BIOS, but I wanted to make sure that if I try this BIOS on my T61p, I wouldn't have a paperweight...

Please note: This isn't an open invitation for people to go ahead and flash and potentially brick their T61p's, but rather just wondering if someone has already tried this. Hopefully, middleton will respond to my forum post over there as well.
