What do you think, could I install this into a T60? Would there be a problem with EDID?

Check the pinout. Is it electrically compatible with any of the stock screens?

I would be interested in upgrading the screen in my T60. I didn't know anyone made a 14.1" IPS (or comparable) screen. Can anyone find a datasheet? Is it for sale anywhere for a reasonable price? I can deal with connector differences as long as is electrically compatible.

That info is from 2003!
The BoeHydis HT14P21 that I have found are all TFT, not FFS

When the OP raised this question (the other day), I tried - quite seriously - to find a detailled technical datasheet for the Boe-Hydis panel mentioned, HT14P21, but to my surprise with no success. The most "detailled", albeit completely unreferenced, information about the viewing angles for this panel is seen at this page. Also, the thread What does IPS mean? is mentioning this panel, but again with very unprecise specefications.

Bottom line is a bit hard to reach, but it seems spooky if a 14.1" 4:3 SXGA panel should have existed for years and years with FlexView/IPS technology without being discovered by at least some ThinkPad'er... :?:

I've seen this screen referenced in various databases, but I've never been able to find a reliable source for the actual part, let alone datasheets.

My guess is that it was announced but never shipped. I'd love to be proven wrong though, and if someone can find a datasheet (and if it's electrically compatible) I definitely will give it a go.

... in such case I'd suggest that you (who raised this question and hence ask for help from others); that that you contact this said-to-be-seller ask for a detailled datasheet, and share it with us... I'd say that this ought to be your homework, if you are seriously interested in having a qualified reply to the question (!). Just posting the information as quoted doesn't really shed any new light on this issue, does it?

The document you reference was apparently written before they decided to use the "Viewiz" term on all FFS-equipped panels in the end of 2003. FFS panels (with a few exceptions) are not named by HT(...) but HV(...) - V for "Viewiz". The referenced 15" screens were not released either, before they were re-branded to what we know as HV150P01 and HV150UX1. Actually, the 14" SXGA+ FFS also received a name, HV141P01 - but according to Yak who received a reply from Hydis, it was never put into production:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 3&start=30 (near bottom)

Maybe they can sell you an engineering sample since it's probably of little to no use for them now, but it may be in a non-functional state, i.e. no LVDs interface, lots of probe points, very fragile tape bond carrier connections, not mounted in a standard frame, etc.

As Johan said, contact the seller. I doubt you'll receive anything but a compatible screen (with a TN panel) though. The replacement LCD industry seems to be all about owning a homepage with all sorts of existing and non-existing panel model numbers, some generic panels of various sizes, resolutions and coatings in stock and finally some stock images of panels shown on each and every "product detail" page. Not saying that Yallstore is just like that, but it is usually hard to find reliable suppliers by using search engines.

This is the reply yak got from boe hydis:
I'm afraid to say that we couldn't delivery this product.
In fact, we had been to develop 14.1" SXGA+ with FFS not AFFS in 2003.
But it hadn't continued to do mass production. It just ended by Engineering
Run.
We had just developed for some reason such as several tests.
So, we couldn't supply this module to you.
We can supply product on the web site.
So either the seller has a pre-production model, or a compatible one which is not the model.
