T61 mobo + UXGA --- which inverter?

#1 Post by bgalakazam » Wed May 25, 2011 4:25 pm

I looked up the inverter parts for T61 XGA and SXGA+ and they are the same. If I am to use a UXGA with a 14.1" T61 motherboard, does it matter if it's XGA or SXGA+ since they use the same inverter? Do I need to buy a separate inverter if the standard doesn't work?

There is no 14.1" UXGA available for the T61.

How do you hook that monitor to a T61 then?
If you have an XGA machine, I would recommend buying the SXGA+/UXGA inverter for your model.
So since the T61 XGA and SXGA+ inverter is the same, it doesn't matter if I get a T61 XGA motherboard?

The choice of inverter depends on the power requirements of the screen. If you are putting a WUXGA screen on a 14" chassis, you are sort-of on your own.

I'd go with the original inverter for a 15" T60/p.

So both the XGA inverter from T60 and SXGA+ inverter from T61 don't work for me - there is no image on LCD, backlight doesn't go on.

I was able to change the EDID so there is connection to the LCD via the cable, but the inverters aren't compatible I am thinking. They work on the other LCD's I have so clearly not broken.

Should I go for the T60 15" inverter?

Inverter card (15in) SXGA+/UXGA 42T0079

or the R50p 15" inverter?
