A few times now (since replacing my fan and putting in a copper shim) I have done a cold bootup of my T60, and when I log in, I check TPFanControl and it always reports the fan speed as 0 RPM for maybe 10 or 15 seconds before the fan finally starts moving. I have TPFanControl set to BIOS mode, so that means TPFanControl isn't doing anything - it is letting the computer control the fan.
Does the computer actually not start the fan until the temperature goes above a certain point?
What is the default fan behavior?

That is correct. What you are describing is normal.thinkpac wrote: Does the computer actually not start the fan until the temperature goes above a certain point?
