T60 Motherboard swap

Can i swap a 14" ATi based T60 motherboard into my T60 iwth a GMA 950?
Friend of mine can let me have the complete laptop (with a broken screen) for shipping from canada

Sure as long as the screen aspect ratio (4:3) is the same it's no issue. You could even use a systemboard from a 4:3 15" T60.

He has a 14" model, i got a 15". So i presume it won't work

As long as the screen aspect ratio (4:3) is the same it's no issue. For example, if yours is a 15.4" widescreen, and his is a 14" normal aspect ratio 4:3 screen, it will not work.

Just download the
HMM and carefully follow the steps, being careful to keep up with where all the screws go, and you shouldn't have any trouble.

You need to change the fan, also. The fan unit for discrete graphics units have a thermal contact point for the GPU.
