Looking for a laptop to carry with me in my backpack while on the bicycle, or in the car, Wondering which i should get? 14" or 15" Is the weight difference that big a issue? What was the biggest CPU they put in these things? so far i only seen the 2.2 but thought they put the peryen ( how ever you spell it) cpu in this thing? ( which i think goes up to 3.0 due core)

what is the best graphics card they came with?

Which screens should i look for?

I thought about getting the x41 or x61, but can't upgrade the [censored] things, I figure the t60 or t61 would be able to take a better beating....

As a help in your considerations about the "best" T60 to get, I suggest that you see the thread Advice please - $700-$800 TP for college student containing an in-depth discussion about purchasing a T60 for a student/young person... I have the understanding that you are mor eor less in the same situation.

For informaton about the specifications of various T60's, I suggest yousee the thread Is there a T60 with 512Mb in graphics memory? and especially Ithis post - the links pointed to therein will take you to Lenovo's ltwbook containing specifications for the whole series of e.g. T60's

Regarding the weight, at one point I measured weight of various T series models in different sizes and configurations:

Is it possible to upgrade to a Core 2 Quad? t60? t60p? or t61? 61p?

I don't know if it'll work, my guess would be no, but if it does, you'll need to find a way to deal with the extra heat.

Why all the CPU power, are you doing something where you need it? Most things like Office or Internet won't see any benefit from a quad.

I think if you're looking for a machine for a bike, the X200 or newer X220(i), if you've got the cash, would seem to me to be a better choice, even if you can't get a quad.

Well if I was gonna carry something around in a backpack on a bike much of the time I'd want something small and light - certainly no larger than a 14 in T60 or T61. If the backpack gets tossed into a car most of the time, you could consider something bigger.
