After getting a new aftermarket battery, I found out that my T43 bit the dust.
Machine will run from the battery but not from A/C. It will no charge the
battery.
Found and bought the following T61 on Ebay:
Type 7658-18U T7500 2.2 GHZ, 2 GB Ram, 250 GB 7200 RPM, CDRW/DVDRW, 14.1 1280X800,
Intel X3100 video, WINXP Pro
The seller stated it had Intel 3945ABG and XP device manager says 3945 ABG. I did notice at
Lenovo support that it came with 3945AGN and the little mac address sticker on the bottom
says 802.11 AGN. Makes me wonder if somewhere down the line if the AGN card failed and
someone put a ABG card in. Makes me wonder if the third antenna is already on board.
Anyways, the machine is in excellent shape. Just the usual light worn spots on the touchpad
and keyboard. The rest looks brand new. No scratches at all. It runs like a top!
Did buy a T61 !
Re: Did buy a T61 !
Don't know if this helps, but my x61s which came with an intel 4965AG (basically an intel 4965AGN with N disabled) does have "802.11 A/G" on the sticker next to the wlan mac address, with no mention of N whatsoever.
Anyway, nice find! I've been looking around for a used T61 myself, though it's mostly out of interest for the model itself, not sure what I'd actually do with it.

There is no 3945AGN
There was 4965AGN.
Big difference.
If XP says it's 3945ABG, it most likely is. The card was swapped sometime in the past, that's all there is to it.
You have the least-liked card amongst most ThinkPad users when it comes to this generation of machines. The good news is that an upgrade to a better card is not that expensive and is easy to perform.
Enjoy that T61.
