SSD and T60 (i know , i know it's been covered)

#1 Post by SaberX » Fri Jul 15, 2011 6:28 pm

I did the serch and came up with a bunch of info. Reading it all now.
But wanted to know in my T60 with Core Duo 1.83Ghz,2 gigs ram, 250 gig 5400 rpm,ATI X1300 64 meg.Nice running system now.
I was thinking of looking for a nice C2D T7200 or T7400 cpu for it . Then i seen this guy in my town has a Intel X25-M Gen 2 80Gig for a nice price(about 80.00).

I'm thinking of getting it to try out SSD.

In my T60 I have an Intel Sata 40gb SSD and it works perfectly. Really boosted the performance of the computer. I do recommend it.

Just keep in mind that the drive will have limited write cycles. Be a little cautious with a used SSD.

The Seagate Momentus XT might be worth a look. It gives SSD like performance for boot times and commonly used applications. Plus you get a lot more space. If you do decide to go with the Intel, the ultrabay for your old drive to get extra space might be a good idea.
