Unable to resume or power on while ac adapter is connected

Hi all,
Haven't been able to find the solution through searching but I've got an issue with my t60 (2623-d6u). The issue is that powering the laptop while the power cable is connected causes the battery and power indicator lights to go off. The laptop will not turn on again until I remove the power cable and then remove and replace the battery.The same thing happens on resume from suspend. I should mention that I've tried two different batteries and power supplies (both of which work well with my other T60.)

If I'm on battery power, both functions work perfectly.

This sounds like a power management issue on the systemboard. The fix is to replace it.

Well that's disappointing. Guess it's time to start shopping for a new board.

I would sell it for parts keep the hard drive and get a newer machine, not much of a difference between a good used one and a board + plus parting out your old one.
